ASTM A194 Grade 8T คือหัวน็อตหรือแป้นเกลียว (Hexagon Nut) ที่ใช้กับสลักเกลียว (Bolts หรือ Stud Bolts) ASTM A193 Grade B8T  เป็นเหล็กสแตนเลส (Stainless Steel) ทีมีความต้านทานต่อสนิม และกรด ด่างต่างๆ  ใช้กับงานที่อยู่ในสถานที่่ ที่มีอุณหภูมิสูง และจะใช้ร่วมกับ ASTM A320 Grade B8T ในกรณีอุณหภูมิต่ำ  มีส่วนผสมของ นิเกิล (Nickel) ซึ่งมีคุณสมบัติ ที่มีความเหนียว และขัดขึ้นมันได้ดี ทนต่อการกัดกร่อนของกรดและด่าง แต่ไม่ทนต่อกรดเข้มข้น เช่น กรดดินประสิว เมื่อนำนิกเกิลผสมในเหล็กทำให้เป็นแม่เหล็กดีขึ้น  และในส่วนของ โครเมียม (Chromium) ก็จะมีคุณสมบัติที่ทนต่อการกัดกร่อนและทนต่อการสึกหรอ ที่สำคัญยังมีส่วนผสมของ ไททาเนียม (Titanium) ซึ่งมีคุณสมบัติพิเศษคือ ถึงแม้ว่าอุณหภูมิจะสูงถึง 400 °C ก็ยังทนต่อการกัดกร่อนได้เป็นอย่างดี มีความเค้นแรงดึงเท่ากับเหล็กกล้า จะมีความแข็งแรงในอุณหภูมิสูง

The ASTM A194 Grade 8T Hexagon Nut made of stainless steel, manufactured in accordance with ASTM Standard to use with Bolts or Stud Bolts ASTM A193 Grade B8T for rustproof and corrosive resistant.  It is manufactured for use in high temperature service and it is compatible to use with ASTM 320 Grade B8T in low temperature service. Compose of Nickel substance enables of toughness and best for polishing, it is also acid / base corrosive resistant, but it is non-resistant for concentrate acid like niter.  Best for electro-magnet when mix with Nickel.  Compose of Chromium substance enables of corrosive & erosion resistance.  In addition compose of Titanium enables corrosive resistant when high temperature up to 400 °C is required.  High elongation like steel, but provide you more strength at high temperature.
